10 Things YOU must do with Your LinkedIn Account It should be marketing oriented.
1. Use Microsoft Word to write and store your info. LinkedIn does not have spellcheck. It also helps with the consistency among different networking sites.
2. Header Area-is keyword searchable. Full name, current position with company, some credentials, and a great photo!
3. Customize your profile-Include your website and customize the label. Also, change your public profile url with LinkedIn to include your name. The goal is too be found!
4. A comprehensive Summary-Info about your company, your role, why are you on LinkedIn? What can you contribute. It’s your 30-second commercial. Bullets,spacing,special characters
5. Special Subsection-List keywords using comma’s. ie; marketing, business to business marketing, lead generation
6. Communicating more with experience. Not a resume. Communicate WIFM. List all jobs with very little text. Explain what the company does. What is your role?
7. Education-List all schools with little text. Remember to list them all. Include the years you attended. Include all activities while at the school. YOU want to be FINDABLE!
8. Important Add info-Website of current employer, your blog, keep interests simple, show associations & abbreviations, comma’s are key
